OK2b is a grass-roots organisation and charity, run predominantly by volunteers. It seeks to work on several fronts to tackle the long-standing problem of mental health discrimination:
1. to arrange a range of events – including concerts and comedy nights.
2. to challenge inaccurate and discriminating representations of mental distress in the media
3. to expand this website to become a centre of excellence to highlight key facts and figures around mental health discrimination.
4. to add to the evidence base with regard to mental health discrimination.
5. to act as a catalyst, and to ensure that the sector as a whole raises its profile with public figures, celebrities, politicians, business leaders, think tanks and other key influencers.
I am a trustee of OK2b, a charity, which seeks to overcome stigma towards people with mental health problems through high-profile musical and comedy events.
