The Addiction Treatment Programme (ATP) at the Priory Hospital North London has a good reputation. It is designed for both alcohol, substances, and problem behaviours such as gambling, binge eating or pornography. During treatment, patients progress through various stages of the 12-Step Programme, typically in a group therapy format, and are encouraged to share their progress with peers, receive constructive feedback and develop insight and awareness. Patients also attend regular AA and other 12-Step fellowship meetings, which are held both on and off-site at the hospital, to engage with the wider recovery community.
I would normally assess patients before or on admission if it is urgent. Please tell this to my secretary if an urgent admission is required. In general, addiction to alcohol or substances requires treatment first before treating OCD or BDD. However it partly depends on the severity of the alcohol and substance misuse problem.
